The Today dashboard
Today opens with six cards, each answering one question a partner actually asks in the morning — split into two bands: our work (what’s overdue, what’s waiting on approval, what arrived) and their money (cash, profit, what’s unpublished). The premise: the work is ours, the money is theirs, and the morning’s job is knowing which of each needs a human.
Reading a card
Every card has the same grammar: a question, a number, a sentence, then the rows behind it — and a verb to act on. Colour appears only when something is late, missing or unusually profitable; a quiet card is a card you can skip.
The Calendar
The calendar keeps two registers per day. The DUE band across the top holds all-day obligations — filing deadlines, VAT quarters, anything with a date but no time — with repeats collapsed to a count so a heavy month stays readable. Below it, the 07:00–19:00 grid holds booked items. Clicking a task opens the same task sidebar you’d get from the Tasks page.
Where calendar entries come from
- Task due dates — one-off and recurring, from Tasks.
- Statutory deadlines — synced per client from Companies House.
Nothing on the calendar is typed in twice; it is a projection of the work, not a second diary to maintain.
Per-client vs All Clients
Both pages respect the company selector: one client’s morning, or the whole practice’s. Managers typically live in All Clients; the person closing one client’s quarter narrows to them.
