Integrations

Xero, Microsoft 365, Companies House, Staffology, Teams & Slack, Sumsub, AI.

How connections work

Wherever a login exists, the connection is OAuth: you authorise it, we never hold the password, and you can revoke at the provider any time. Tokens expire; when one lapses the integration shows disconnected and reconnecting resumes where it left off — nothing is lost.

Xero

Connected per client organisation, from Settings. Inbound: the chart of accounts, tax rates, tracking categories and contacts — what Bills codes against, with nominal mapping (and automap) to your standard layout. Outbound: publishing a bill creates the purchase invoice with the source document attached. Financials syncs the ledger for management accounts.

Microsoft 365 — three distinct grants

  • Sign-in. “Continue with Microsoft” — authentication stays with your identity provider, accounts are never auto-created.
  • The shared bills mailbox. An application-level grant that lets AccountantOS poll the practice’s bills inbox for forwarded invoices.
  • Personal, delegated. Each user can connect their own mailbox — for send-as-me email (proposals, chasers go from your address) and for scanning connected client mailboxes for invoices. Managed in Profile.

Companies House

Search and ingest clients from the register; officers import into AML; filing deadlines flow into Tasks and the calendar; a scheduled refresh keeps registered details current. Nothing to authorise — it’s the public record, used properly.

Staffology

Connected once at practice level with your Staffology API key (stored encrypted). Employers are matched to clients — automatically where names align, manually otherwise — then employees and payslips sync into Payroll, read-only.

Teams & Slack

Link a client’s channels and messages relay between them and the knowledge base — both directions, per-channel, on a short sync cycle. A message in Slack reaches Teams in one pass.

Sumsub (AML)

Screening checks and ongoing monitoring run against Sumsub; results come back for adjudication, and monitoring alerts arrive on signed webhooks — see Webhooks for the machine detail.

AI, inside the product

Three uses: bill field extraction, client summaries, and drafting automation rules. Usage is metered per client so the cost is visible — see the AI spend view. Nothing the AI produces publishes itself; a person reviews extractions before Xero and drafts before rules run.

The bills email address

Per-client forwarding address
bills+<clientslug>@accountantos.co.uk

Copy the exact address from the client’s profile. Details in Bills & AP.

Planned

PlannedHMRC feeds (VAT obligations and payment status pulled from HMRC directly) are planned; today VAT schemes are recorded per client and deadlines tracked as tasks.
PlannedDirect Debit collection against proposal mandates via a payments provider is planned; mandates are captured and tracked today.
