Settings reference

Every settings card, what it does, and where to find it.

Practice vs per-client mode

Settings follows the company selector. With All Clients selected you are editing the practice; with one client selected, that client. The page says which at the top — and the cards below note which mode they live in.

Practice-level cards

Companies House sync — the register connection and its scheduled refresh.

Roles — company role types and the roles themselves (see Users & access).

Client profile configuration — which profile panes each client type shows.

VAT schemes — the schemes clients can carry (monthly, quarterly, annual).

Services — the service catalogue proposals and engagements draw on.

Prospects configuration — pipeline stages and defaults.

Staffology — the practice API key and employer matching (see Payroll).

Users & permissions — the per-user feature grid, client access, vault access and invites.

Per-client cards

Xero — connect the client’s organisation; nominal mapping and automap live here.

Connected mailboxes — the client mailboxes scanned for invoice attachments.

Chat channels — the Teams/Slack channels relayed into the knowledge base.

Supplier rules — the coding rules Bills learned (edit or add by hand).

Holidays — the public-holiday calendar automations count working days against.

Archive — retire a client from every list and fetch without deleting anything.

API access — the client’s API credentials: base URL, client ID, the revealable secret and rotation. Anyone with access to the client can see the card and copy the client ID; generating, revealing or rotating the secret needs the API credentials permission, and every reveal is recorded by name. Full API detail at API overview.

TipIf you can’t find a setting, check the selector first — half of all “where did the card go?” questions are the other mode.
