Financials turns a client’s Xero ledger into management accounts your clients will actually read — a live profit & loss and balance sheet you can shape with columns, adjust, annotate and export. The data is pulled live, so the numbers are current every time you open the report; you decide when to freeze a snapshot.
Live vs saved versions
The live report reflects the ledger right now. When you want a fixed point of reference, save a version — a frozen snapshot. Versions let you compare this month’s pack against last month’s, keep a record of what was presented, and layer adjustments without disturbing the live view. Hold as many as you need; return to live any time.
The Columns control
Columns decide how time lays out: years, halves, quarters, months, YTD, prior-year YTD, and the last twelve months rolling. Totals sit left, the period breakdown runs right — summary first, detail after. The balance sheet is always cumulative (position at each period end) whatever mode the P&L uses.
Adjustments
Post accruals, prepayments and reclassifications on top of the Xero figures without touching Xero itself — singly or in bulk. Save the result as an annotated version and the adjusted pack is preserved with its workings; keep both raw and adjusted views and compare side by side.
Per-cell commentary and footnotes
Any figure can carry a note — explain a variance, flag a one-off, record an assumption. Annotations travel with the version and appear in the exported pack, so the story reaches the reader, not just the figures.
Reordering rows and sections
Drag rows and sections into your house presentation; the arrangement persists per report, so next period opens exactly as you left it.
Export: PDF and Excel
- Board-ready PDF — formatted, with commentary and footnotes in place, and the practice wordmark on each sheet if you want it.
- Formula-linked Excel — totals are live formulas, not pasted values, so recipients can trace how each subtotal builds.
Scale and currency
Switch the whole report between full units, thousands and millions; figures present in the client’s base currency.
